what is groundwrk?

groundwrk is a three-part journey of coming home to our body, connecting to ourselves and living from that place.

  1. many of us have become dissociated from our body and its inner wisdom. this can bring forward feelings of anxiety, being lost in our lives, uncertain of our direction, and perhaps making choices that are even harmful towards ourselves. this series begins with finding connection to our body - feeling safe and at ease within it, so we can access calm, presence and our intuition.

  2. as we begin to feel calm and safe in our body, we have the space and capacity for the second chapter of remembering who we are - connecting with authenticity and the essence of ourselves through exploring our genuine values, interests, inspirations that are unique to us. all this information is brought forward from the wisdom of our body.

  3. the third chapter is about infusing our lives with this inner knowledge and guidance - allowing what’s been discovered to be lived and expressed in the world.

who is this for?

so many of us move through our days living in our heads while feeling disconnected from our body and from who we are. this can leave us feeling unsettled, anxious, or unsure of ourselves, longing for a deeper sense of grounding and belonging.

this series is a return home to yourself. through gentle movement, breath, meditation, and reflection, we are guided back into our body as a place of safety and wisdom. over time, we learn to soften, to listen, and to reconnect with our natural intuitive intelligence - creating more peace in our body and more authenticity in how we live.

the three sets of six

classes are held IRL in my home space in north vancouver. each series runs for six consecutive weeks.

being in the body

the process of living a more peaceful and fulfilled life begins in our body. our body holds the foundation of the lives we live - it carries secrets, answers and guidance specifically for us.

by connecting with our body, we begin to understand the movements of our mind, our emotions, and our soul. we remember the intelligence that lives within and realize our body is always guiding us towards our intuition, inner voice and inner wisdom.

we soften back into our physical home, find peace and safety in our body and notice how our way of being inside ourselves shapes the way we live.

being in ourselves

as we find comfort in our body, we are able to take the learnings a little deeper.

we explore the stories, patterns and beliefs that wrap around who we are. we chisel away at the false identities to rediscover our essential nature, the one we were born with and the one that is meant to naturally express itself throughout our lives. our innate essence begins to expand and express itself as we come closer to who we are. we discover our passions, allow for more pleasure, celebrate and give space for ourselves to be who are we. as our confidence grows we begin to care less about what others think or what we ‘should’ be doing - our own inner knowing steps into a stronger role in our lives.

being in our lives

the embodiment of our physical and essential body lays a foundation for our natural expression and the embodiment of how we show up in the world.

who we are in our homes, with our family members, in our work, and our dreams and direction all become an outcome of our inner awareness. we learn to navigate our lives from inner feelings and knowings rather than from outer expectations.

the process

each class in the series will be 90 minutes in length. each of the classes include the following:

theme + focus

each week we will move through a theme which corresponds to the overall arc of our process and time together.

movement

our body thrives on intentional movement. we will create space in our body and mind through slow yoga/pilates movements which support us in connecting to the essence of who we are.

meditation + breathing

regulating our nervous system plays a big role throughout this process. through meditation and breathing practices we find moments of stillness and peace - allowing us to sit in our personal intuitive nature.

discussion + writing

through sharing, listening and journaling we connect with our community and allow for discovery of ourselves through our interactions with each other.

come back home to yourself

you might be feeling disconnected from your body, caught in busyness, or unsure how to slow down and listen inward. you may be longing for steadiness, clarity, and a deeper sense of yourself. or maybe you’re tired of always doing more, and quietly wishing for a way to feel more at ease and in flow with life.

after this series, you can expect to feel more grounded and at home in your body — with simple tools to pause, breathe, and reconnect to your intuition and inner wisdom. you’ll leave with a calmer nervous system, greater self-trust, and a felt sense of returning to yourself. over time, this steadiness supports you to meet daily life with more ease, presence, and self-trust

groundwork is shaped by my personal journey and the ongoing practice of listening inward as well as two decades of teaching movement and self connection. this process supports us in finding trust in ourselves, feeling at home in our body and being who we are in life. this is a course in learning and living from the quiet intelligence of our body.

my intention is to create a consistant, welcoming space where you can explore your own experience, at your own pace, supported by mindful movement, breath, and gentle inquiry. my intention always is to hold space with care, presence, and respect for your unique path.
